The Three Pillars Method®

What are the Three Pillars?

  • Quality
  • Protein
  • Calories

Achieving the right amount of these nutrients are what allow you to achieve your weight, health, and fitness goals – simultaneously. That’s right! Proper nutrition benefits all these areas such that you don’t need a different plan to lose 20 pounds or improve your 5k time.

Quality

Quality refers to the vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytochemicals in your diet. Modern diets are sorely lacking a great source of these quality nutrients: fruits and vegetables! In fact, 90% of Americans aren’t eating enough (USDA). This is where the #800gChallenge® comes in. Eat 800 grams  – by weight – of the fruits and veggies of your choice. They are low in calories, but high in satiety. Plus, quality nutrients are necessary for everything from bone density to immunity. Fruits and veggies are a universal good food choice for everyone

Protein

Everyone thinks about protein to build muscles in the gym, but protein comprises many structures in the body like anti-bodies and hormones such that it’s essential to your health and wellbeing, too! Ensuring you add enough (whether animal- or plant-based) in combination with your fruits and veggies is the diet plan known as Lazy Macros®. This second step is still focused on adding versus restricting foods (which is all too common with trendy diets).

Calories

Once you’ve set a foundation of fruits, veggies, and protein in your diet, you can round out your calories with the foods you love. You have to include the foods you love if you want to sustain your nutrition plan. In this pillar, you will figure out your personalized caloric target to reach your goals that account for your genetics, activity level, and preferences, all while uncovering why all the calorie, macro, or point counting systems have failed you to date.
